Fundraising for CTE
In the first half of 2026, we set up a Give-a-Little page for Ange to raise funds for her to be able to buy a Vielight. With the help of 32 generous donors, our fundraising goal was reached and Ange had now received her Vielight and she is about to begin using it. That story is now archived in our first Blog post.
The last part of Ange's fundraising goal was a very generous gift made by The Billy Guyton Foundation. This foundation was established by Shane Christie, in memory of his friend Billy Guyton.
Now that we have lost both Billy and Shane to CTE, Billy's sister Tori Guyton is continuing the work of the foundation. Ange and I (Elisabeth) are honoured to be starting to work more closely with Tori. We have the same misson and goals and by combining our different experiences and skills and to research and write papers to shine a light on the issues; and to design and develop educational and training resources for people who work in health policy, and in face to face settings with people who are suffering from the effects of repeated head knocks.
Ange emphasises that CTE does not just affect sportspeople, but affects people who have received multiple head knocks for all kinds of reasons, including domestic violence, military service, accidents, and more.
If you would like to donate to help support this work, please visit the Give-a-Little page for The Billy Guyton Foundation.
